Founded in 1998 by opera singer and voice teacher Judith Townsend, The Celestial Opera Company provides internships for student singers, a venue for professional singers, and beautiful music for the community, rendered with excellence by its own residents. Our Articles of Incorporation list the following purposes:
- To produce opera for performance.
- To educate in all the art forms that comprise opera (including but not limited to: singing, acting, music, dance, stage direction, costumes, sets, makeup, props, lights, curtains).
- To unite students of the arts, professionals in the arts and members of the community in the worthwhile goal of opera production and performance.
- To directly engage in, and to provide facilities for others to engage in the promotion of the arts generally.
